Job Description
As a Senior Scrum Master in the Public Sector, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating and promoting agile methodologies within our organization. You are required to guide cross-functional teams in delivering high-impact projects and initiatives that directly benefit the community. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Scrum and other agile practices are implemented effectively, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
Bring extensive knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies to guide teams towards self-organization and high-performance.
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. Ensure teams adhere to Scrum principles and continuously improve their processes.
Coach and mentor team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders in adopting agile principles. Share best practices and knowledge to ensure alignment with agile values.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including government officials and community representatives, to understand their objectives and align the team with these goals.
Foster a culture of openness and collaboration within and between teams, promoting knowledge sharing and effective problem-solving while breaking down organizational silos.
Identify and address conflicts and obstacles that impede team progress, proactively seeking creative solutions and escalating issues when necessary.
Promote a culture of ongoing improvement, assisting teams in identifying areas for enhancement and implementing strategies to optimize their agile processes.
Monitor and report on team progress, metrics, and key performance indicators, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance team performance and support decision-making.
Ensure teams adhere to quality standards and practices, delivering products or services that meet the highest standards and comply with public sector regulations.
Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation plans, guaranteeing on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Ensure adherence to public sector regulations and standards, maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Qualifications:
SAFe 6 Certification is mandatory
8-10 years of experience as a Scrum Master or agile coach in the public sector or related industries.
Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt and tailor agile practices to the unique needs of public sector projects.
Proficiency in using agile project management tools and software.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative and iterative development environment.
